Jim Story brings a depth of trial experience to the firm, having served as lead prosecutor in more than 40 jury trials as an Assistant District Attorney, ranging from possession of drugs to murder. Between his prosecutorial and defense experience, he has led more than 70 jury trials and handled thousands of cases on all court levels, including Justice of the Peace, Misdemeanor court, and Felony court.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Story served in Active Duty from 1987-1989, earning the Good Conduct Medal in 1989 and earning the rank of E-3, Private First Class. He served as Inactive Reserve from 1989-1995. Mr. Story received his Basic and AIT (Advanced Infantry Training) at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and served at the Duty Station in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. His MOS (Military Occupation Specialty) was 13 Foxtrot, Forward Observer for Artillery. Mr. Story received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army.

Born at Seymore Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, North Carolina and raised in the small town of Jarratt, Virginia, Jim Story is a product of traditional southern values and fierce Texas frontier independence. Mr. Story graduated from Arlington High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, and earned his law degree at Texas Tech University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in all Texas State Courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
